Read: Luke 24:13-34

Emmaus crossI decided to go on a “Walk to Emmaus” in 2002.  This was a onetime powerful life changing Christian three-day retreat which mirrors Luke 24:13-34. In this Luke passage, two followers of Jesus were discouraged after His death.  They had heard of the empty tomb, and unwittingly walked and talked with the risen Christ on the road to Emmaus.  Much like my walk with Christ at the time, I too was discouraged and wondered where my Savior was in my life.  Like my brothers on that Emmaus road, I discovered that Christ had been with me all along.  It was on this special weekend, while I sat next to a tranquil pond, God asked me, “What are you doing here?” Was I here on earth for Him or myself?

IMG_0050I returned from my “Walk” with an invigorated sense of purpose and passion to get to know my Savior through prayer, service, and Bible study.  My personal relationship with God grows each day as I continue my passion for constant prayer, service, and SOAP journaling Bible study. What are you waiting for? What are you doing here? How is your relationship with God growing?

God is counting on us.
